God Forsake America

We’re underpaid yet you say to be grateful to have a job today
Don’t think you get how this works, it’s an exchange: we work, you pay
Multibillion company yet still can’t dish out resources to work anyway
Rather line the pockets of stockholders and corporate leads who treat us like slaves
You know we’re understaffed, yet you’re still coming at our necks
On eggshells cuz we all know we could be on the chopping block next
Whether physical or mental health, shame on us if we take a day off
Act like it’s some sort of privilege to work to death for a minimum wage job
So god forsake America
Not quite sure we deserve to be saved
You elected an orange devil
To be the saviour of the land of the brave
So god forsake America
Never cared about its own people anyway
We’ve damned ourselves past redemption
Jesus would be so ashamed
Of this capitalist dreamcrusher
Post-apocalyptic arms dealer
We’re a union of demons
Not saints
Claim to care about lives that have yet to even have lungs to breathe
So long as they’re not your problem, couldn’t give a damn after the birthing
Once someone pisses you off, suddenly you stop caring about life
Prison sentence, death row, or straight up human existence’s you illegalize
You don’t truly care about women, let alone women’s sports
Just misogyny and transphobia, that you project on queers to hurt
If your idea of masculinity was so damn healthy, then explain the suicide rate
It’s all just xenophobic hatred, there’s nothing to even debate
So god forsake America
Not quite sure we deserve to be saved
You elected an orange devil
To be the saviour of the land of the brave
So god forsake America
Never cared about its own people anyway
We’ve damned ourselves past redemption
Jesus would be so ashamed
Of this capitalist dreamcrusher
Post-apocalyptic arms dealer
We’re a union of demons
Not saints
Just cognitive dissonance
Willful ignorance
Use religion to excuse
This ongoing abuse
Jesus loved wholly
You’re not the holy
You don’t get to play judge
You’re not the man above
Go ahead and call me out
As another triggered queer who just wants to shout
I haven’t forgotten my catholic roots
Feels like I know your religion far better than you
So god forsake America
Not quite sure we deserve to be saved
You elected an orange devil
To be the saviour of the land of the brave
So god forsake America
Never cared about its own people anyway
We’ve damned ourselves past redemption
Jesus would be so ashamed
Of this capitalist dreamcrusher
Post-apocalyptic arms dealer
We’re a union of demons
Not saints
